Public Allies Mississippi Seeks 2018-2019 Cohort

Public Allies Mississippi is a program of the Foundation for the Mid South, and a proud member of the AmeriCorps national service network. Our program is made possible through funding of the Corporation for National and Community Service. Entering into it’s third year of programming in Mississippi the program is looking to increase the partner placement opportunities for participants.

Public Allies is a national movement committed to advancing social justice and equity by engaging and activating the leadership capacities of our young people.

We believe that communities already have the leadership they need to create lasting social change. Public Allies seeks to find and cultivate those leaders and connect them to the issues and causes that ignite their passion. This 10 month paid internship is currently taking applications for the 2018-19 program year and will begin with pre-service, mandatory orientation in early September 2018. There will but up to 13 placements between the Mississippi Delta and the Jackson metro area.

Public Ally positions are available to all, without regard to race, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, religion, age, disability, criminal record, political affiliation, marital or parental status, military service, community, or social affiliations. In fact, we work hard to ensure our program is as diverse as possible. Anyone over 17 years with a high school diploma or GED, and who is a U.S. citizen or has permanent residency, is welcome to apply. Applications will be open until June 8th, 2018.
