Dwanda Moore serves as the Health and Wellness Program Officer at the Foundation for the Mid South. She has been with the Foundation since 2000, where she spent almost 10 years providing administrative support to the team as the Office Manager and Manager of Administration, overseeing human resources and office administration.
“In the transition from the Manager of Administration to Program Officer, I realized I had to shift my way of thinking significantly. In program work, we need to think big and see the big picture.   I had to learn that sometimes you’re not going to meet your goal, and that’s ok.  What’s important is to see any potential obstacle as a learning opportunity. I need to ask myself, ‘What did I learn and what can I do differently next time?”
Dwanda has supported various  initiatives at the Foundation, including Mid South Middle Start, The National Office on Philanthropy and the Black Church Project, and the African-American Faith Based Initiative.
In 2013, She was selected to the Hull Fellows Program and believes the experience in the program helped her find a way to bring all of her collective experience together to shape her current day to day work.
