While traditions of caring, sharing, giving, and self-help are ingrained in the African American tradition, not enough has been done, it seems, to encourage strategic philanthropic investments by African Americans for African Americans. The Foundation for the Mid South created the Mid South African American Philanthropy Fund to help African Americans promote Black philanthropy through donor education programs and services, regional conferences, and publications.

All contributions to the Fund will be invested in a permanently endowed fund at the Foundation and managed by professional managers selected and reviewed by the Board of Directors. An advisory committee of donors and key stakeholders in the African American community will help shape the Fund's mission and guidelines for giving. The committee will determine how the earnings from the Fund should be distributed.

How Can You Support the Mid South African American Fund?

The Fund has been established with contributions of all amounts from individuals, corporations, and foundations located in the Mid South or others who want to help promote Black philanthropy.
