INVESTING IN OUR CHILDREN'S FUTURES

Those who are from and care about the Mid South share both a special understanding of its problems and an appreciation for the need for creative and effective solutions. The Foundation developed a national expatriates outreach strategy and created a network to connect expatriates and friends of the region so that their combined resources—ideas, experiences, networks, successful models, and philanthropic funds—can impact the critical issues facing children in Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi. The Foundation initiated this national strategy in Chicago—an "Up South" city with large numbers of expatriates and significant ties to the Mid South.

The Mid South Expatriates Network of Chicago hosts annual fundraisers and other networking events and Network educational activities in Chicago to increase awareness of the needs and opportunities in the Mid South. 100% of the proceeds from the fundraisers and other events go to the Raised Up Right Fund for grants.

Created by expatriates and supported primarily by their gifts, the Raised Up Right Fund provides critical support to nonprofit organizations working to improve the opportunities and outlook for the underserved children in the Mid South. As a vehicle that collects resources and promotes collaboration between expatriates and friends of the region, the Raised Up Right Fund is a tremendous force for change for children who desperately need opportunities to grow, learn, and succeed.
